First time buyer abroad
Buying a house can be daunting, especially if you are buying in another country! Having moved to Denmark from the UK a few years ago, we always knew we wanted to buy a house and settle in Vejle but we were unsure of how the whole process worked and what to expect. Luckily we found Charlotte and Bolignavigator who came highly recommended to us from friends who also just bought their first home here. And what an amazing experience this has been! From day one, Charlotte was right there with us, helping and guiding us through the ins and outs of the buying-process and also offering her advice, based on her many years of experience in the business. She knew all the ‘pitfalls’, what to look for, what questions to ask and drove a tough (but fair!) negotiation which eventually ended with our final offer being accepted below the asking price. And not only that! Through her extensive network, she could also help with financial advice, legal support and building inspections from qualified builders.
She also brought a very healthy dose of reality into our house-hunt and kept us grounded throughout. At one point, we found a house which we felt could work for us with some “light” renovations. Charlotte gave us a much needed reality-check though as those planned “light” renovations would never pay off. We therefore decided not to move ahead with that house and eventually found our dream house which we will be moving into come October 1st. And that is all thanks to Charlotte! We highly recommend Charlotte to anyone looking to buy their first house and especially to anyone who, like us, are new to buying a house in Denmark
